Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 23 March 2017
A fresh start to the day this morning with low temperatures keeping yesterdays snow in great condition. The mountain has reported a fresh 5cm has fallen throughout the evening topping up our already incredible 405cm base.
With a slight dusting of snow, there could be some fresh tracks to be had first thing this morning for all them early birds. But we can expect the mountain to still be quiet with not so many tourists, giving us more opportunity to find new tracks throughout the afternoon.
Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 23 March 2017
Temperature will stay steady during the day and dropping down again as the evening rolls in. We are expecting another snowfall tonight with freezing levels dropping back down to town levels.
Could be another white morning wake up call tomorrow as winter isn’t over yet for Nozawa Onsen.
It could be a cold next few days with snow in the forecast again for Sunday evening.
Be sure to check out our page each day for all latest reports..

Pow Pow Pow!!!
Waking up full of excitement this morning after yesterdays rain. Always nice to look out the window in the morning with everything covered in snow. The Mountain has measured a fresh 15cm of new snow up top early this morning.Temperatures have dropped well below zero last night and still sitting about -6 up top of the mountain today with the snow just dumping down.
Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 22 March 2017
Freezing level is between 600 to 800 meters with not much sign of the snow stopping. Should be a good day for all those powder-hounds out there in search of fresh tracks. Be careful though as this fresh snow might be sitting on top of some cruddy areas after Mondays really warm day and yesterdays rainy day.
We have snow in the forecast for all of today right through until Friday afternoon so its looking like a good couple of powder days. Could be a great chance to head on down to Nozawa Central Rental shop to try out their Powder range before the sun comes back…
Almost like a surfing move taking to the air and sending it on the Nozawa bowl yesterday.
Spring Skiing Nozawa Onsen
As was mentioned in yesterdays Snow Report it looks like Winter is not finished with us yet and more snow to come but eventually Spring will sweep in and we can expect some more glorious days like yesterday in Nozawa

It is still not too late for this season by any means. We have over 380cm base and more on the way
April is awesome especially for families over the Easter break for some Spring Skiing Nozawa Onsen
Easter often falls towards the end of March, and early April – the perfect time to bring the family up to Nozawa for a ski. This year depending where you live it covers the first few weeks of April

Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 21 March 2017
What a big difference from yesterday’s weather!
Waking up this morning to a slight drizzle in town with local reports from up the mountain of it snowing slightly. Seems we are stuck in the clouds today with very mild temperatures and 0 degrees at top of Yamabiko.
Although it is not over yet, this time last year the official snow depth was around 130cm at top of mountain with this year nearly at a whopping 4 meters base.
Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 21 March 2017
We will be waiting patiently this morning for the temperature to drop and the snow forecast to increase as the afternoon goes by. Tonight we are expected a heavy snow fall our way continuing throughout the next couple of days with minus temperatures.
Seems to be like another morning Onsen day, getting our ski legs ready for the powder….
The long weekend is officially over and the crowds have disappeared. Whatever the weather will bring, it will feel like we have the mountain to ourselves…..
Base at top: 390 cm
Temp at Top: -5 Degrees
Base at Uenotaira station: 290 cm
New snow since close: 5 cm
Weather: Sunny!!
Good morning for today and just as promised the sun is out in full shine! Although a slight haze is floating around we can expect it to lift away this afternoon. Im sure a fair few people was worrying about last nights Thunder and Lightning Storm with what today would bring?
Nozawa Onsen Snow Report 20 March 2017
We have confirmation from the resort that a new 5cm of freshies has landed up top but please take it easy through the trees as there was strong winds last night and most likely wind blown areas.
The groomed runs are looking in excellent conditions this morning, great for early morning carve sessions. As the sun will be shining all day, the snow condition will start to feel more slushy later throughout the day.
Current temperature up top is sitting at -5 with the best of the snow conditions.
Hope to see everyone up the mountain today enjoying the beautiful Spring weather!!
As for tomorrow, it looks like the clouds will be rolling in with new Snow in the forecast. With the wind direction taking a change and temperatures dropping we can look forward to seeing some new snow drop almost at village level by tomorrow evening.
