Nozawa Snow Report Thursday 22nd of February 2018

Trees covered in snow

Good morning everyone, we had 12cm during the day yesterday and 3cm over night, there is a chance of light snow today and tomorrow. The forecast for the weekend looks good for a moderate dump of snow which should add to the 365cm base we have at the moment.

The quality of this seasons snow has been a talking point with a lot of people here in Nozawa Onsen, one of our snowboard instructors who has over 20 year of snowboarding under his belt all over the world said he found the best powder of his life yesterday, so Nozawa Onsen is certainly delivering.

We should see the sun today so get out there, stay safe and we’ll see you on the mountain!

We woke up to snowfall again! (10cm overnight)

Nozawa Snow Report Wednesday 21st of February 2018

The road to the Gondola covered with snow this morning.

It’s always a good sign when the road to the Gondola is covered with snow in the morning. It seems we are on a snowfall, sunshine, snowfall, sunshine, snowfall, sunshine repeat patten of weather at the moment as we have sunshine predicted for tomorrow and then snow again the following day.

The longer range forecast at this stage has sunshine at the beginning of next week, then what looks to be a heavy snow dump in the second half of the week. Lets hope that prediction holds as it would be a great start to March.

Have a great day up there, stay safe and we’ll see you on the mountain!

Stealth powder day here again in Nozawa (70cm in 24 hours)

Nozawa Snow Report Sunday 18th of February 2018

70cm in 24 hours

We’ve had a heap of snow fall over the last 24 hours and it’s still continuing today!  Shovelling will be happening around town and there will be fun to be had on the mountain.  A lot of snow fall means you need to be a little more vigilant up there, stay safe and ride with a friend.  If your gear is feeling a little slow – why not rent out some powder gear whilst you get your gear freshly waxed?  Perfect time as there is powder everywhere!

Have a great day up there, stay safe and we’ll see you on the mountain!
