Happy Valentines Day from Nozawa Onsen.
Waking up to clear blue skies here today and light winds for what should be nothing short of a perfect day for all lovers of the slide on the slopes today.
Yesterday was a bit of a surprise package with snow falling all day and heavy at times. Have not put together the official figures but a few people told me there was between 15 and 20cm fall up top.
Chilly start to the day but should warm up as the sun does its job. Snow expected to start up again tonight and into tomorrow with a pretty good snow, sun, snow rhythm ahead over the next week.
Nozawa seems to be a bit of a village of love maybe due to all the “Dosojin” or Fertility Gods that you see in front of all the houses and every year we get a few proposals taking place. This year cupid has struck again and a big congratulations to a couple of members of the Nozawa Holidays team who got engaged just yesterday! Enjoy the day and don’t get too close to the Dosojin as you never know what may happen!
The Dosojin are fertility gods and help spread teh love and luck around our little village
Good morning everyone!Well it should be a bit quieter today with the long weekend done.Similar conditions to yesterday with light snow and low temps – now would be the perfect time for another stealth dumping snow gods!
Weekend is still looking promising but we’ll keep you updated as we get closer!
If you’re keen for a bit of sunshine or to grab some shots around the village Wednesday is your day as we head into a blue bird day tomorrow.
